Since 2007 HYSAWA has supported over 1182 Union Parishads and some of the most disadvantaged communities in Bangladesh.
How are working areas selected?
Areas are selected based on the following set of criteria to ensure smooth large scale implementation.
- There are defined needs for WatSan projects.
- There is no duplication of WatSan activities in the local area.
- Local Governments functionaries are willing to participate in the project.
- Local Government Institutions can demonstrate a good audit track record.
- Local Government Institutions can demonstrate previous experience in management of development work.
- Economies of scale (LGIs located in one specific area, e.g. a district).
- Technical solutions for the area are readily available and simple.
How are participating Unions selected?
