Scope, Activities and Summary Results
|
|
Scope:
- Support operator, local vendors of piped water systems to manage effectively with Mobile application
- Implementing the project in three Bangladesh Delta Plan hotspot areas,
- Integrating three different kinds, levels and governance of piped water suppliers/operators,
- Engaging end-users and all stakeholders in the R&D
- Exploring public and private perceptions,
- Getting our implementation method, PWSS and stakeholders ready for Covid-19 in prevention scopes related to water
- Incorporating phased and ‘inclusive’ approach

Activities:
- Increased awareness of PWS quality and hygiene among Bangladeshi citizens;
- Capacity (knowledge) building of drinking water suppliers through co-design in research and education, with multi-level stakeholders (end-users, SMEs, NGOs, academics);
- Increased conservation and use of piped water for proper drinking water and hygienic practices, such as water collection, water storage and handwashing (e.g., to prevent Covid-19 and other water hygiene related diseases);
- Increased trust in and acceptance of PWS systems;
- Increased willingness to pay for improved drinking water services;
- Established promising collaboration among public and private PWS operators of the project, related central departments, local government, WATSAN, NGOs, institutional and other stakeholders in sustainable safe water management.
- Created multi-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary efficient team for the research, involving full-time, part-time/consultant and honorary consortium members.

Summary results:
Knowledge management about contextual issues among different kinds PWS systems have been undertaken. In the project areas the water suppliers and others look forward to the TAPP-BDP.
