Scope, Activities and Summary Results
|
|
Scope:
To ensure effective, adequate and uninterrupted provision of inclusive WASH services to the community in targeted locations through capacity building of Local Government Institutions (LGI).

Activities:
- · UP functionaries and members of relevant standing committees given training on Planning, governance and administration, accounting.
- Community organizers (CO). COs given formal training with necessary tools and IEC/BCC materials. The COs conducted the community mobilization ultimately to come up with Local Resilience Plan (LRP) for each community.
- Community mobilization process includes formation of the community group called Community Development Forum (CDF), identify and train local volunteers (at least two volunteers from each CDF) orient communities on CCA, hygiene, sanitation issues and get the LRPs done by the community after in-depth situation analysis and need assessments considering climate shock affects and water and sanitation as major and other development issues.
- COs further oriented about 300 community volunteers to facilitate and assist closely to the community.
- About 1500 people including school students received hands on orientation from COs and volunteers on CCA, WSP and hygiene sanitation issues.
- HYSAWA primarily aims to install climate resilient 24 water points, 24 sanitation infrastructures including 96 de-sludging latrine cubicles and 05 washroom, which directly benefit 1500 people. Moreover, the UP-project staff will conduct hygiene promotion session and distribute 700 menstrual hygiene kits at HH level.
- The project has encouraged and facilitated UPs to look for more resources from other sources to meet their unmet priority needs.
