Scope, Activities and Summary Results

Scope:

  • Provide basic education and awareness to school girls and adolescents about safe and secured menstrual hygiene management and promotion of safe practice 

 

  • Inclusion of families and other entities and building their capacity by improving awareness 

 

  • Install/renovate toilets as of user friendly during menstrual period with available all necessary menstrual hygiene materials and accessories (toilets, water points, basket etc.) in schools

 

 

Activities:

  • Selection and Printing of HYSAWA IEC/BCC Materials for MHM promotional activities.

 

  • Conducted series of Motivational sessions in Schools and communities on MHM

 

  • Connected Sanitary napkin vendors to Schools for supply of napkins to Schools for retail sale.

 

  • Enhanced educational knowledge and awareness of selected secondary schools (05 nos.) girls’ students/boys, mothers/ female guardians on safe menstrual hygiene management (MHM) and improved regular practices (girls 1,119, adolescents 6 and also mothers 1,119);   

 

  • Communities particularly men, women, adolescents, youths, girls, shop keepers (total covered 2,772) enhanced their knowledge and awareness on MHM issues by breaking their traditional beliefs on its practice); 

 

  • Distributed sanitary napkins, soaps, antiseptic lotion, cotton, with first aid box) by school girls’ students (1,113);   

 

Summary results:

 

  • The project supports had been able to reach to 5,010 direct and indirect (communities) beneficiaries for improvement and modern/scientific practices on MHM issues which were neglected issues in remote peoples’ communities and secondary educational institutions.
