Scope, Activities and Summary Results

Scope:

The goal of the project is to address the needs and the gaps of the WaSH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) adapted to the climate context, the area and the populations in targeted Rohingya refugee camps and vulnerable host communities.

  •  

Activities:

  • Training for Union Parishad functionaries and relevent standing committee members 
  • Provide hands on capacity development and technical support to the Union Parishads for improving public service delivery and people-oriented planning and coordination process.
  • Facilitate to activate Standing Committies as per Union Parishad Act 2009
  • Training to project for Community mobilization and formation of community groups for Community level planning and monitoring
  • Site selection for water infrustuctures by the communities emphasizing comfortable access for women, 
  • Selection of appropriate and climate resilient technlogy based on local context and in consultation with DPHE and other actots. 
  • Site selection for water schemes in camps in consultation with camp in-charges, DPHE and wash sector 
  • Implementation of water schemes, quality control.
  • Rehabilation and maintenance of existing non-functional water points in consultation with relevent actors, DPHE and wash sector
  • Site selection for individual and shared latrines in camps in consultation with camp in charges and wash sector
  • Selection of appropriate disaster adaptive technology in consultation with DPHE and other actors. 
  • Ensure comfortabl access for women, girls with necessary arrangement for menstrual waste management
  • Engagement of Volunteers in communities and camps from the locals for hygiene promotion activities.
  • Development or re-printing of available Climate change and WASH fiocus IEC/BCC materials
  • Hygiene promotion and Climate change awarness and adaptation activities in communities, schools and camps
  • Hygiene promotion activities in communities, schools and camps
  • Distribution of hygiene kits in necessary cases
  • Special sessions for adolescent girls in camps and communities on menstrual hygiene
